Ingredients

We recommend using the following branded ingredients for this recipe:

Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Frosting (12 oz.)

Crisco Vegetable Oil

Duncan Hines French Vanilla Cake Mix

Reynolds Party Baking Cups

Spree Candy

  • 3 egg(s)
  • 1 tub Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Frosting (12 oz.)
  • 1/3 cup Crisco Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Duncan Hines French Vanilla Cake Mix
  • 18 Reynolds Party Baking Cups
  • 2 packages Spree Candy

Preparation

  1. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Using 4 different colors of cupcake liners, bake in 9 of one color, 5 of another, 3 of another, and 1 of the last. Fill the baking cups 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 minutes. Set aside and let cool.

  2. Once cool, frost generously. Then stack in tiers. You can get creative depending on what serving dishes you have, but it's easiest if you start on a flat surface and turn a bowl or round plastic storage container upside-down, spread the first layer of cupcakes around it, place the next layer on top of the container, then the remaining two layers on top of those cupcakes.

  3. Then decorate with candies that match the paper cups.

Cook's Notes

It's a little flimsy so it's best to bake and frost in advance but wait until the last minute to stack and decorate.
