Preparation
- Remove any insides and rinse the chicken inside and out. Rub chicken with dry rub and salt and pepper to taste.
- Open beer can and drink half. Mmm. Then use a can opener to take the full lid off. Grab a chicken leg in each hand and pull over the beer can.
- Place in the center of the grill, with the can upright. Cook over indirect heat (i.e. push coals to sides of grill so the chicken is not directly over the coals) and close the grill cover. Cook until internal temperature is 175 degrees, about an hour an a half.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before carving.
