Amish-Style Ham Balls

Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine ground pork & ground ham in a bowl (I prefer a mixer) with egg, breadcrumbs, and milk. Once thoroughly mixed, form into approximately 1 inch balls and place into a 9x13 baking dish.
- Place in oven for 20 minutes. As ham balls begin to cook, combine crushed pineapple, suger, and dry mustard in a saucepan over low heat. Continue over low heat, stirring occasionally, reduce until thickened, like gravy.
- After the ham balls have been in the oven for 20 minutes, place pineapple glaze over them, and return to the oven for another 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven, let stand about 5 minutes before serving.
Cook's Notes
I often chop my own pork, ham, and pineapple in the food processor, as I find the flavor more robust. I often serve this dish with white rice and green beans or asparagus (depending on the season). Corn bread goes quite well with it, too.
