Sweet and Tangy Cranberry Apple Sauce

Sweet and Tangy Cranberry Apple Sauce

I made this for Thanksgiving instead of canned cranberry sauce, but it's good anytime. So much better than jarred applesauce!

Ingredients

We recommend using the following branded ingredients for this recipe:

Granny Smith apple(s)

C&H Sugar

Dole Fresh Cranberries (12 oz.)

  • 4-5 Granny Smith apple(s)
  • 2/3 cup C&H Sugar
  • 1 package Dole Fresh Cranberries (12 oz.)

Preparation

  1. Cut up apples to remove skin and seeds and cut into small pieces.

  2. Put everything together in crockpot and turn on high.

  3. Cook for 4-5 hours on high and when soft, put everything in a food processor or blender and puree.

  4. Put in fridge until cooled.

Cook's Notes

You can use the sugar to your taste. After this has cooked for a while in the crockpot and is softened completely, add more sugar if you think that it is needed. You can also add some orange juice if it is too dense for your taste. This is so easy but it tastes like you slaved over it!

Comment: I've never been a big fan of cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving so this looks like a fabulous alternative!
